What happens after you submit
No black box. Here's exactly what to expect once you send a tutoring request — including what happens if a tutor isn't free right away.
-
1. We confirm we got it
Your request goes to the volunteer coordination team. We read every one — nothing sits in an inbox unseen.
-
2. We reply, usually within a week
You'll hear from us by email either way — whether we can match you now or need a little longer. We'll confirm your request and let you know whether a tutor is currently available for your subject and schedule.
-
3. We match you with a tutor
We pair you by subject need, availability, and time zone. Your tutor is a selected, trained student — chosen for how clearly they explain, with a recent 1530+ digital-SAT score as one factor. You'll agree on a first meeting time together.
-
4. If no tutor is free yet
We won't leave you waiting silently. We'll tell you your request is still active, point you to free group options and the parts of the guide that help most in the meantime, and reach back out as soon as a tutor opens up. You can update your availability or withdraw anytime.
Heard nothing after a week or so? Please email us at masstutoringea@gmail.com — occasionally a reply lands in spam. We'd always rather hear from you twice than miss you.
Change or withdraw your request
Plans change — that's fine. Email masstutoringea@gmail.com to update your availability, correct anything you entered, pause your request, or withdraw it entirely. You can also ask us to delete your information at any time.
While you wait
You don't have to sit still. The most productive thing you can do before a first session is take a diagnostic and review it:
- Start Here — how the digital SAT works and your first steps.
- Take a Bluebook diagnostic, then diagnose your mistakes so your first session starts from real data.
- Build a free study plan — it stays on your device, no account needed.
