Official material should be the backbone of your prep: it's written by the people who write the test, and almost all of it is free. Everything on this page carries the Official College Board Resource label so you can tell it apart from third-party recommendations elsewhere in the guide.

How to get the most out of the Question Bank

  1. Start from a reviewed practice test

    Don't drill randomly. Take a Bluebook test, review it, and list your two or three weakest skills — that's what the Question Bank is for.

  2. Filter down to one skill

    Choose the test (SAT), the section, then the content domain and specific skill you missed. Add a difficulty filter once easy questions feel automatic.

  3. Export a small set and work it properly

    Fifteen to twenty questions at a time beats a hundred. Do them untimed at first, check every answer against the official explanation, and write down the rule or move you missed in your error log.

  4. Re-drill until the skill is boring

    When you can explain why each wrong answer is wrong, move to the next weakness. Boredom on a topic is a good sign.
