SAT Access Corps

A free, six-week SAT program we'd like to bring to schools, libraries, and community sites — combining a workshop, diagnostic support, small-group clinics, and one-on-one tutoring when a student needs more.

Status: proposal — seeking a pilot partner. This program is not yet operating. We're describing the model and looking for a first pilot partner. Nothing on this page describes an active service or an existing school endorsement. Last updated July 23, 2026.

The problem it addresses

Plenty of students never find a free SAT resource on their own, don't know how to start, or stall out studying alone. A single link isn't always enough — some students benefit from a structured, in-person on-ramp with a real person in the room. That's what this program is designed to provide, at no cost.

Who it would be for

Students at a partner public school, library, or community organization — especially those who can't afford commercial prep or would benefit from a supported, group setting to get started.

How the six-week model would work

  1. Week 1 — Intro workshop

    How the digital SAT works, how to register, and how to use free official tools.

  2. Week 2 — Bluebook diagnostic

    A supported full practice test so every student has a real baseline.

  3. Weeks 3–5 — Small-group skill clinics

    Targeted sessions on the weak areas the diagnostics reveal, using the diagnose-your-mistakes protocol and official questions.

  4. Week 6 — Retest & next steps

    A second practice test, review, and a personal study plan — plus access to one-on-one free tutoring for students who want to keep going.

What a partner would provide

  • One named adult contact at the site.
  • A supervised meeting space (a classroom, library room, or lab).
  • Help sharing the opportunity with students.
  • Attendance coordination.
  • Device or computer-lab access where possible.
  • Brief feedback after the program.

What Mass Tutoring would provide

  • Trained volunteer tutors and a workshop facilitator.
  • All materials, built around free official College Board tools.
  • The diagnostic and review structure.
  • Follow-up access to one-on-one tutoring.
  • Free participation for every student.

Safeguarding

The program is designed around adult-supervised, on-site settings with documented session times and approved communication — see our safeguarding & conduct page. Adult oversight and a named advisor are part of what we put in place before a pilot runs, not after.

Questions

Is this running now?

No. It's a proposal. We'll only describe it as a pilot once one is actually scheduled at a partner site, and as active once it's operating.

Does hosting a pilot cost anything?

No. Participation is free for students and there's no fee to partner. A partner mainly provides space, an adult contact, and help reaching students.
